Many studies will show that between 60% and 80% of your potential customers will check your company out on both your website and/or your social media platforms. Unless you are your company’s main customer, your use of social media doesn’t impact your top line!
One of my favorite stories along this same line was the doctor who told me that he didn’t use the internet or Facebook, so he can’t imagine why his practice would need a website or social media. I asked him if he knew how I found out how to contact and locate his office. He said he had no idea. Well – there you go. I guess he thought I used a copy of the Yellow Pages. Their slogan has been “Let your fingers do the walking.” The only walking fingers do these days is on a keyboard or cell phone. And even that is becoming obsolete.
Social media, in its various forms, is here to stay. Back in the day, telephones were scoffed at and resisted by some as frivolous and an unnecessary extravagance. The paradigm of communication is shifting quickly. Even social media, as we know it today, will most certainly, like the telephone, evolve under the influence of culture and technology. The highway to the future is paved with whatever the newest and most popular mode of communication is at any one time. Now is the time for social media.
Love it or not, if used wisely, can be an excellent way to engage your customers, family and friends.
