Tim Pugliese

Owner & Creative Director

Tim Pugliese is the owner and Creative Director at Commercial Ideas. He received his undergraduate degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Science degree in Broadcast Television from SMU where he also taught the script writing and advanced film lab course for several years.

His career began in 1974 when he started an award-winning film production company, Coconut Grove Productions, in Dallas. He also served two terms as President of the Dallas Producers Association and in 1976 partnered with Darren Avrea to open an ad agency, Avrea/Pugliese. Both firms were folded into Pugliese Creative in 1990 when Tim went out on his own.

Over the years he has been a leader in creative marketing solutions for many notable companies in commercial real estate, banking/private investments, medical, oil and gas, and legal. Some examples of long time client relationships included, but are not limited to, The Staubach Company, Dave and Busters, United Commercial Realty, Medical Edge, JLL, Donald E. Godwin, and a host of others.

Tim is married to his lovely and successful wife Miriam and they have three happily married adult children, John, Timmy, and Laurel and one beloved grandchild, Bear. They have attended and been very active in Highland Park United Methodist Church for 30+ years. In his spare time, Tim enjoys photography, World War 2 history, shooting sports, riding their horses, and martial arts which he has been practicing for more than 50 years. He holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and has also trained in multiple Japanese styles, ancient weapons and both law enforcement and other self-defense specialties.

Kelsie Shivers

Director of Client Services

As our Director of Client Services, Kelsie ensures that each and every one of our clients receive the highest quality product in a timely manner. Kelsie joined Commercial Ideas as a Social Media Marketing intern during her last semester at the University of Oklahoma. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, she joined the firm full time as an Account Executive and quickly moved up as she connected with each of our clients. She is proficient in social media marketing, digital advertising and creative account planning. Knowing what the client needs and wants, Kelsie is able to communicate effectively to our art department in a manner so that client expectations are exceeded. During the summertime, Kelsie likes to spend her weekends on the lake with her family, friends and golden retriever, Millie.

Karen Ramey

Director; Business Operations

Karen Ramey is the Business Operations Manager for both Commerical Ideas and Hey Peggy. She manages all aspects of the business side of the firms and is directly responsible for the day to day operations as pertain to finances, accounting, and human resources. Karen has an extensive, 20+ year background in running small companies and brings continuity and financial oversight to virtually every part of the business, both internal and external, including interfacing with our CPA, Annie Fairchild. In her spare time, which is minimal these days, Karen enjoys exercise, Bible studies, charity work with Vision Africa, and spending as much time as possible with her two loving children.

Jay Reed

Audio Specialist

Jay is a Dallas native, and serves in multiple capacities providing audio and multi-media content creation for CI’s many studio and location production. MIT Certified in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management, Jay is a project manager focusing on both podcast and general audio content production, development, and delivery. He is knowledgeable and can see the big picture of any project while giving expert advice as needed to cross the finish line. Jay has been an accomplished guitarist for 20 years, and an enthusiast of all things tech. When he isn’t mixing audio, he spends his time with his wife and goes fishing and bowling with his two kids.

Judy Romero

Video Editor & Motion Graphics Designer

Originally from Ecuador, in 2014 Judy made the decision to further her creative career in the US. She may have left her comfort zone behind, but the steady flow of work has certainly fueled her personal and professional Judy provides a wide range of video and animation related services to our clients. For a long time Judy was a full time CI staff member and now she owns Kinema Studio while remaining an integral member of our core creative department. She is both a talented graphic designer as well as an accomplished video editor and motion grapics designer.

Our Photographer and Videographer, Doug Layton, has over thirty years of photography experience and a degree in photojournalism from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Commercial Ideas, Doug worked as photojournalist for many years in North Dallas, enjoying extraordinary success and receiving numerous awards for his work and advancements in the fields of photography and graphic design. From corporate videography and bio headshots to weddings and nature shots, Doug has an eye for design. He enjoys keeping up with the latest technology and determines how it can best be used for his work. Doug is as creative in his work as he is in life. He loves to travel and go camping to find beauty in nature and reveal it through his lens.

Laura Vaca

Manager, Digital & Design Services

Laura joined the Commercial Ideas team in 2013 after she received her Associate’s degree in Web Design and Development Associate of Science from Richland College. As the Manager of Digital & Design Services, she is involved in all production aspects of the company including web design, graphic design, illustration, digital marketing, website management, 3D renderings, and more. Laura provides assistance in the discovery phase of all website projects, and also oversees the quality and delivery of the final product. Her background and experience since she was 11 years old, building website templates, and the many years of knowledge and diversity in work that she has dealt with at Commercial Ideas, provide a solid foundation for any project that we are faced with. Laura enjoys creating and designing in the office just as much as she does outside of the workplace. Whether it’s painting, drawing, playing instruments, hosting art shows, speed painting competitions or anything art-related, she’s there!

Shelley Stuart

Accounting

As our Account Clerk at Commercial Ideas, Shelley handles all billing, payroll, bank reconciliations and accounting reports. Shelley has an Associates Degree in Accounting. Though her background is in finance, her love of drawing sparked her interest in the advertising industry, and ultimately Commercial Ideas. In addition to drawing, Shelley loves spending time with her husband and son, as well as cooking and working out.

Nora Loeung

Digital & Design Services Specialist

Nora joined Commercial Ideas as a Digital and Design Services Specialist. She is directly involved with managing the graphics and content for our social media client accounts and also plays an integral part in website management and graphic design. Nora has a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising as well as Communication Technology from the University of Texas at Arlington. In her free time, she likes to try new places to eat, cook, and draw.

Christian Smith

Social Media Associate

Christian is a recent graduate from the University of the Ozarks with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and additional minors in marketing, psychology, and history. He is very skilled in organic follower growth for multiple social media platforms and is a valuable digital services team member. He’s a family guy and loves hunting and fishing and received his Eagle Scout in 2012.
